There is nothing better than getting off the porch and going to the beach. Our very dear friends have a home along the coast in the Pacific Northwest. While it is one of the stormiest environments in the region (and that’s saying something) the four days we were out there were spectacular. Warm and partly cloudy with a nice breeze out of the north so it didn’t get muggy.
Time was spent eating good food, imbibing in good libations, and enjoying wonderful companionship. Walks on the beach were, of course, mandatory, as they always offer an opportunity to hold hands, exercise, and provide the potential of capturing interesting photos.
Relaxation was achieved at every turn.
I even tried my hand at creating a little bit of beach art.
And no beach trip is complete without a beach bonfire party. Where we were at vehicles are allowed on the beach.
It was very difficult to leave such a slice of paradise, but I couldn’t be away from my dear Ginger for more than four days; plus the list of chores that needed to be dealt with also beckoned. We will be out to the coast again before the end of summer but until then I have these new wonderful memories to remind me of the time in the sun.
