Ese’s Weekly Shoot & Quote Challenge – Silence

For me there is something very comforting in marking time by the phases of the moon.  To look up in the evening sky and watch the progression of the waxing then waning gives me a sense of grounding.  Even though the stars change with the rotation of the seasons, the moon’s progress from new to full and back again is a more constant companion.

There are nights when the wolves are silent and only the moon howls. – George Carlin

To sit by a fire, whether in a fireplace or a campfire, I can become quieted and fully focused.  Long periods of time can pass as I contemplate this natural marvel.

Everything has its wonders, even darkness and silence, and I learn, whatever state I may be in, therein to be content. – Helen Keller

The photo of the fire brings back beautiful memories from the past when it use to be done quite often and very much enjoyed. Everything about it – being out in nature, positively charged and rested at the same time, learning…through sounds, words and silence.
Wonderful photos and quotes that sing with them!
