This week’s challenge is ‘Grand’.
“. . .we want you to consider not just the size of something, but also that special element: the “wow factor” of a scene or subject that makes a picture so stunning. That magical quality you’re always out looking for and so excited to capture with your camera.”
Having grown up in the desert southwest of the United States seeing large bodies of water was not something seen very often. When I moved to the Pacific Northwest, seeing the Columbia River for the first time was a real ‘wow’ moment.
Also the Cascade Mountain Range was very different from the Southern Rockies that I was used to, especially the desolation of Mount St. Helens.
Finally, the awe that comes from looking out onto the Pacific Ocean. Even to this day I can’t wrap my brain around all that water.
Head on over to the Weekly Photo Challenge to see more ‘Grand’ moments.
